I purchased this little cabinet at a yard sale last month, a mere two streets away from my house, talk about luck! Anyhow, it was in need of a makeover, so I used chalk type paint in Paris Grey, clear and dark wax, and then lightly distressed it. I also replaced/added new clips to hold the shelves up, along with adding a few extra screws here & there to tighten it up. Lastly, I added a gorgeous floral fabric to the back. I love this fabric…it really just makes the whole piece, don’t you think?

love the cabinet… and, yes, the fabric is amazing! smart to go with a subtle paint color so the fabric can shine! i just finished a similar piece in a much different way and am planning to reveal it this week!
Thanks Amy:) I can’t wait to see your piece!!
Sooo much better. These curios can look so stuffy and you did a nice job giving it a fresh look.
Thank you so much! It means a lot to me, coming from you 🙂
How did you get the fabric to stay on the back?
I wrapped the fabric around the back, and simply stapled it down, with a staple gun.
Sincerely, Shangri~La Lane.
I have been wondering what to do with my curio like that! Great job! What is the name of the lovely fabric?
Thank you:) I’m so sorry, I have no idea what the name of the fabric is/was…
I have the same antique curio cabinet! Love the gray color!
