MINT DECOUPAGE PAPERS

MINT decoupage papers are all designed especially with furniture art and refurbishment in mind.

The optimum paper size, gsm, and print have all been painstakingly curated by Michelle, owner of MINT, and is a culmination of years of working with decoupage papers and refurbishing furniture with individuality, style, and artistic scope in mind. The MINT decoupage papers are made and manufactured in Geelong, Australia.

Decoupage paper is a gorgeous and affordable way to add that extra va-va-voom to your painted projects. The papers come in a variety of designs and sizes to fit all styles and project pieces. You can choose from modern designs to impressionist designs and lots of styles in between. There’s literally something for everyone. And, there are limited edition seasonal designs that will cover you through the holidays. You can use the papers on furniture, signs, or smaller projects like custom trays and coasters.

HOW TO APPLY DECOUPAGE PAPER

You can apply the decoupage papers in two different ways. The first way is to paint your piece, let it dry, apply the varnish top coat (or a decoupage medium), dampen the backside of your paper with water from a spray bottle, carefully lay your paper on top, use a balled-up piece of saran wrap or the Mint Brayer to work out any wrinkles working in small sections. The second way is the Iron-On Method. Paint your piece, let it dry, and apply the Varnish Top Coat (Wood Glue, or Modge Podge) with a paintbrush. Let the first coat dry, apply a second coat, and let it dry. Next, lay your paper over your piece and place a piece of parchment paper over the top. Set your iron on medium heat and start in the middle of your piece, work your way out pushing the paper down with your iron. You can watch the video tutorial here.
